Now that I've been in the realm of licensed driving since Tuesday morning, I drove myself to school on Thursday. Why did I wait till Thursday? Because my mom's old car is the car that I would drive, but she's afraid it'll break down when I drive it, so I share a car with her for the time being. So I can only drive myself to school when she doesn't need the car during the day. That said, she didn't need the car Thursday, so I drove myself to school.
I made sure I got to school 15 minutes earlier than I usually get to school, because that way there'd be less cars in the parking lot so I wouldn't be scared about people seeing me park horribly. I saw an empty row, pulled in, and realized as I was trying to straighten out that it was a hopeless effort. I was practically between 2 spots, and crooked. No worries, I parked the car, went into the school, and went to that spot at the top of the stairs where I know some of my friends hang out.
"Are any of you good at parking?" I'm answered with blank stares and shaking heads. "Does anybody want to park my car?" My buddy Matt gets all excited and says "I do I do!" So Matt and I venture back into the parking lot, where he parks my car beautifully. What a pal. Or, to use the phrase he coined, my "knerd in shining armor." Hahaha (that's me laughing at him, not his joke). Matt and his unique sense of humor is what keeps me from going insane in computer class. My "knerd in shining armor" indeed.
