and now for some good stuff

Right now I'm wearing a t-shirt that's brown and light blue (one of my favorite color combinations) and says "support creativity." It rocks.

I've realized that I complain too much about how miserable AP English is, so I'm going to dedicate this entry to good things that have happened to me lately.

To start, I went to a battle of the bands at Willow on October 26. It was a mad experience, I found a new band that I'm in love with--Black and White Summer. They look like youngins, like maybe they're sophomores, and that makes me like them more because they're so good for being young, but for all I know they could be in college and just look young. Maybe they're middle-aged and going through mid-life crises. There's only three guys in the band, a drummer, guitar player, and keyboard player, they have a unique sound and the keyboard player is the main singer and he totally belts it out. I love them. After the show Kristina and I saw the keyboard player and she told him they were good and he said, "thanks." Then I said, "I love you," and he kept walking. He could've had a blissful future with me, but he just ruined his chances. His loss, not mine.

Then, on October 31, I went with Amberly and one of her roommates and her roommate's friend to a Passion worship thing at Trinity International (not to be confused with the better Trinity, Trinity Christian College, where Amberly goes) and David Crowder Band was there. I love that band, they're freakin awesome. David Crowder is such a good worship leader, I want to go to his church. Charlie Hall was there too, he was good. The aforementioned shirt I'm wearing now I bought at the Passion thing, it's a Charlie Hall shirt. I was conflicted, because if there's any band I want to support and wear their clothing, it's the David Crowder Band, but this shirt was too cool. It says "support creativity," how awesome is that? Yes, very awesome. Ok, enough about the shirt. The guy who spoke at the Passion thing, Louis Giglio, went off on lots of tangents and I couldn't follow his thoughts and it seemed like he tried to hard to be funny and he talked for so long, but he had some good points. All in all, it was an incredible night.

The rest of the weekend I spent at Trinity, it was good to catch up with Amberly. I had fun spending time with her and other Trinity friends. Needless to say, more inside jokes were born.

I found out that my friend Dan, who lives in England, his parents bought a vacation house in Florida! So if he goes to Florida, I'm going to try everything in my power to get down there and visit him. That would be fun.

Last weekend I missed out on Monday's Hero and the Academy shows because I had to work, but at least I finally have an income! Which will be put to good use this weekend when I go see Spitalfield! Ah, I'm so excited.

What other good stuff has happened....well I applied to LeTourneau and Texas Christian University. Still waiting to see whether I've been accepted or not, there was some transcript confusion at LeTourneau but I talked to Kristin Hendricks today so that's all taken care of and I should receive my decision shortly. I'll be sure to write about that in here whenever it happens.

Didn't have school on Monday and Tuesday! That was great, I spent Monday with John and went to school with him again. Fortunately his teachers at the high-caliber Elgin Community College didn't mind that I received a free education for the day. His government teacher said my name sounds like that of a character in a novel. Someone should write a novel about me now, and then the novel should be turned into a movie that I will star in and thus get rich quick.

Last night I went to Caribou with Kristina, I hadn't seen her since the battle of the bands. "If you could switch places with anybody for a day, who would it be?"

So that's a brief rundown of some good stuff that's happened recently. Now if only....no, I'm not even going to say that. I'm fortunate my life is the way it is. It's freakishly windy outside and I'm thankful that I have shelter in a house. Even though Reno 911 isn't on tonight.

Now excuse me while I listen to some Spitalfield.

Wow, there were a lot of links in this entry.
