england?

Friday night I walked into the kitchen and was greeted by my dad saying, "How do you feel about being separated from me for months at a time?" "Uh....why?" He got offered a job in England. My mom doesn't want to move to England, so my dad would just move to England and live there in a flat by himself. He works at Siemens and one of their UK divisions isn't doing very well so they asked my dad if he'd be willing to move out there and be in charge of that division and rehabilitate it. He'd only take the job if he made more money than he does now and make enough money to fly my mom out there to visit him once a month and for him to come visit us once in a while. My dad goes on business trips a lot so I'm used to him not being here all the time, but it'll be quite different to go from not seeing him for a week to not seeing him for a couple months.

This is far from being anywhere near definite, the next step is for him to tell them he's interested and then he'll find out about how much he'll get paid, where in England it'll be, and all that stuff. And he'll still have to get the job. I think it's an awesome opportunity, my dad likes challenges so this'll be good for him. All he needs is his camera and his basses for him to get by. He's already said that there's a lot of new photography matter for him out there. He also has cousins out there and friends he made when he was in Europe years ago. Also, if he takes the job then I can study abroad in England for a semester and stay with him or just visit him all the time when I'm there. That would be a lot of fun, to hang out with my dad in England. I could even visit Dan and Lee, my friends that live in England! I really hope this works out and he gets the job and is happy with it. Although I feel bad for my mom, she'll only get to see her husband about every 4-6 weeks. IF any of this happens, like I said, this is so far from being definite that I probably shouldn't even be talking about it. We'll just see what God has planned.

On the topic of visiting people, Toby's girlfriend, Becky, stayed at our house this weekend. She lives in Southern Illinois so they don't see each other very often. This was my first time meeting her, she seems pretty cool. We like a lot of the same music and she knows guys in bands that I like so that makes her 24.78% cooler. Toby seems to be one of those boyfriends that always has to keep his arm around his girlfriend or be touching her in some way, but that could also have been because he hadn't seen her in a couple weeks. I started laughing to myself and thinking, "kids" but then I remembered that Toby's 21 and Becky's 23, they're adults. That's weird.

So I'm pretty sure I'm going to LeTourneau, as of right now it's my #1 choice but my final decision will probably be between LeTourneau and Texas Christian Univeristy. It depends on which school gives me more money. I really don't want to take the SAT again, but if a score a measly 10 points higher I'll qualify for a full ride. 10 points! Why couldn't I have gotten just a couple more questions right! Man that kills me, I guess I'll have to take it again.

I think that if my dad moves to England that I would like to move with him. Yes, I would like to move to England.
