It's officially kicked in: I miss Amberly.
Commence bawling. Just jupin, this is when I fake cry and then start laughing. It's been a week now since she left so I guess it's expected for me to start missing her. Things were going fine until I talked to her on the phone a couple days ago, and when we hung up I realized that I couldn't go into her room and bug her with my random thoughts. I'm bored at home without her. Who can I laugh with about stupid things that nobody else understands? Who can I watch old Gene Kelly and Judy Garland musicals with? Who can I talk about my bowel movements and other bodily functions with? Who can I moon? Most importantly, who will unload the other half of the dishwasher? Toby won't suffice, especially not for the watching of old musicals. It's funny to think that up until eighth grade Amberly and I hated each other, now people always say that we get along too well to be sisters.
She said I should go visit her at Trinity, and I really want to! She sounds like she's having so much fun! I talked to her on the phone today, it was a welcome distraction from the english essays I was supposed to be writing, and the people she's hanging out with seem so cool! Seriously, who wants to go visit her at Trinity with me (you'll have to drive)? It'll be an awesome time! It sucks though, because Palos Heights (where Trinity is) is one of the few towns around Chicago that doesn't have a train station. Elgin has three freakin train stations for crying out loud, and the closest one to Palos Heights is about a half hour away! Blast this madness.
On another note, registration was yesterday. My mom was helping out with stuff and we had to get there at noon and I had absolutely nothing to do. I wanted to go to John's house, but then I remembered that he was at ECC (hopefully not getting stuck in an elevator), so I bummed around till Heidi and Lynn got there.
Get this, we got new lockers, and my locker is downstairs! What a load of bunk! It sucks! At first I was afraid that I was the only senior down there, but then I saw that Bethany, Noel, and Rachel, just to name a few, have lockers down there. I still have the combination to my old locker so if no one has it then I'm reclaiming it (besides, my locker shelves from last year are still in it), or if a freshman has it I'll use my senior powers (I know, what a joke) to get him or her to switch lockers with me.
What really sucks is that Mr. Marsh isn't teaching any Bible classes this year because he doesn't believe in limited atonement, and as he puts it "they're real sticklers about that." But he said he'll incorporate theology into our history classes, so that's cool.
After registration Shannon, Melody, Heidi, and I went out to eat and celebrated Heidi's birthday. Lynn came too. Then we went back to Heidi's house and played some Dance Dance Revolution. That game is hilarious. It was a grand old time and we took lots of funny pictures. More pictures for my locker! Oh, and Heidi gave me an awesome picture of a guy with a mullet, that one's definitely going in the locker.
I will leave you with an Amberly quote, and guys I'm serious about someone coming with me to go visit her!
"Men are like fine wine, they get better with age."
