Wednesday night Amberly and I watched Lost Boys. Gotta love those 80s movies. I wonder how many times I yelled, "Don't do it Michael!" while Amberly sat and laughed?
Watching 80s movies wasn't the highlight of the week, oh no. Yesterday morning I went to the dentist and got my teeth cleaned, it was well worth waking up early. Nothing beats getting to the dentist at 9 am and getting gagged by that wonderful tray full of flouride they jam in my mouth.
Surely I jest.
Tuesday was great. I heard that Miracle Versus Man was coming to town, so I thought I'd check them out. Yep, Lance's band came to the windy city, it was awesome. I liked the Miracle Versus Man set, it was interesting. It was a good weird, I liked it. When Lance played the drumset with his bare hands, that was rad. Ethan Durelle was good too. The guys in both bands are so cool! I'm sure the guys in the other bands that played are nice guys as well.
Side note: The first guy who played didn't have a band playing with him, but in a video playing behind him was a bunch of random stuff including him playing in a band. So why was he playing guitar and singing onstage by himself? All the other music was on a recording that he played along with. What happened to the rest of the band?
After the show we were brainstorming for a place for them to stay, and Kristina came up with the brilliant idea for them to go to Willow because it's open all the time and they have cots, and since Stevo works there at nights we had a hookup. So they got to Willow but Stevo wasn't there, but fortunately Larry Styka was there and he is my cool person of the year because he paid for the 8 guys to stay in a hotel!!!!!!! Jumping jehosephats, what a guy! He's getting a big old batch of cookies.
That is just a figure of speech, the cookies will not be old.
Yes, Tuesday was a grand old time, even though I forgot to take a lot of pictures. It was great to hang out with Lance again and I got to introduce him to some of the craziest people I know, and him and his friends got to witness some crazy driving (thanks to the one way streets of downtown Wheaton and the bunky detours that lead back to the one way streets). While it would have been cool if my mom let them crash at our house, they most likely got a better night sleep at the hotel than they would've at my house. God had a better plan in mind and He extended grace and gave an incredible blessing through Larry. And Rachel's mom wasn't mad that Rachel got back to my house a lot later than she told her to! Wow, thank God.
Yay for freebies! I like the Ethan Durelle demo, and one of my free stickers has taken up residence on my purse. Now I am antsy...when will the Miracle Versus Man cd be available to the masses?
